IWU Cycling/Triathlon Mission
The Indiana Wesleyan University Cycling/Triathlon Club is a Christ-centered organization committed to the holistic development of the individual. Through club-sponsored events, Bible studies, group rides and races, IWU Cycling will provide Indiana Wesleyan students, staff, and surrounding community opportunities to grow in Christ, develop meaningful relationships, and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Who We Are
IWU Cycling/Triathlon is a university-recognized student organization. We are also registered with USA Cycling (www.usacycling.org), the United States cycling authority, as a Division II member of the National Collegiate Cycling Association (NCCA). We are also recognized by USAT (United States Association of Triathlon) and the MWCTC (Midwest Collegiate Triathlon Club).
Group Rides
We host weekly rides in the Spring and Fall for road and mountain bikers. Our rides are organized for competitive and recreational riders. Each Tuesday and Thursday evenings the IWU Cycling/Triathlon Club meets with the Marion Bike Club at Curfmans Cycle and Fitness in downtown Marion for a group ride for about 40 miles. We also have group rides throughout the week for recreational bikers.
Fellowship
This is the best part of IWU Cycling/Triathlon. Training together opens up the opportunity for conversation more than any other sport. When we train together, we bond. Hopefully friendships from the bike will give believers and seekers a starting point to grow deeper on a spiritual level. We also try to have some sort of monthly get-together for a meal or some sort of workshop to learn a few things on how to care for your bike.
Events
In addition to group rides, we will plan several events throughout the season. Some of them include group outings to races, the Homecoming Tour, Swim Across Indiana, and the Inside-Out Triathlon.
Racing
We compete in the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference (www.mwccc.org), one of ten conferences that make of the NCCA. Collegiate racing is open to any full-time college student, with categories ranging from beginner to professional. For 2006-07, approximately 5-10 cyclists will represent IWU at the collegiate level.
As far as triathlon racing, we compete mainly within the MidEast Region, since most of our athletes are from those states. However, we do have a few representatives of the club that race in SD and MN!
