2nd Annual Swim Across Indiana

Swimming across Indiana in the dead of winter… sound like fun? Challenging perhaps? A bit crazy?

IWU Cycling/Triathlon Club is hosting the Second Annual Swim Across Indiana Competition. The event is a team relay event. Each team will comprise of 3 to 5 people. Each team will try to swim enough laps in the pool to accumulate enough miles in the pool to collectively swim across Indiana.

This year participants will have the choice to have their team swim either North to South (283 miles) or East to West (152 miles).

Teams can accumulate miles any time the pool is open:

Mon.-Fri. 6-8 am and 11-10:30 (Fri. closes at 6:30)

Sat.– 1:00-4:00

Sun. 1:30-4:30

Registration Information:

3 person team: $40

4 person team: $50

5 person team: $55

Individuals can sign up if they want and will be placed on a team that has less than five people. The cost for an individual will be $15.

All participants will receive a shirt

The winning team for both categories (North to South and East to West) will receive prizes. There will also be prizes handed out randomly throughout the competition.

How it works: After each time you swim in the pool, write the number of laps (down and back in the pool) you swam, your team name, and your name and place it in a marked envelope. We will keep a running total of your yardage, convert it to miles, and add it to your team total.
